Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 科學教育研究所 === 106 === The purpose of this research was to investigate the influence on Form One 20 student’s learning motivation and achievement in Mathematics while Cooperative Learning teaching strategy was implemented in Mathematics course of Junior School. This research was supplemented by the use of qualitative data mainly plus quantitative data for support. The research period was approximately five months and was divided into two cycles. The 20 students that involved in the research were from Chinese Independent School where the researcher worked at. The researcher designed the mathematics teaching activities with Cooperative Learning strategies. The researcher used the questionnaires, interviews with student, case study form and video recording method to collect qualitative data. Quantitative materials were composed of questionnaires of Mathematics Learning Motivation and student’s exam results.
The research showed that most of the students had low motivation in learning mathematics before implementing of Cooperative Learning. Students studied mathematics and did homework passively. The results of the mathematics exam were also not satisfactory. There were several difficulties encountered by the researcher in implementing Cooperative Learning and this research was also focusing on finding the solution to solve the difficulties. In addition, Cooperative Learning teaching method could increase their confidence in solving math questions. The students also established a good spirit of cooperation with team members. As a conclusion, the implementation of Cooperative Learning teaching method had significantly improved the student’s motivation for mathematics learning and the student’s mathematics learning achievement in result had also become better.
