Description
Summary:The purpose with this thesis is to examine how some teachers working to motivate unmotivated pupils to participate in physical education and the possibilities/difficulties that exist in the work. The aim is also to examine how some teachers define an unmotivated pupil in relation to participation. Using semi-structured interviews, it proved that an unmotivated pupil may be defined differently, ranging from students who do not listen, to the pupils that do not change. The motive that motivates pupils to participate is both internal and external factors, where the teachers emphasize that the internal factor is the goal. What the majority of teachers agreed on is that the relationship motivates unmotivated pupils. This can be compared with teachers’ working that is that they want to build relationships with pupils and then build up pupils’ motivation, where the difficulty is the amount of time available, as well as the size of the class.
