The meeting of students needs and the measurement of perceptions of mattering were determined through the use of two questionnaires. The instrument measuring needs fulfilment employed scales relating to security, social, esteem and self actualization needs. The questionnaire measuring perceptions of mattering utilized scales measuring perceptions of importance, attention, dependence and ego - extension. The results showed strong correlations between the meeting of student needs and perceptions of mattering while in attendance at school.
