Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 科學教育研究所 === 107 === The purpose of this study is to integrate computer simulations into the scientific modeling processes for enhancing students’ understanding of force concepts and their modeling competence. Additionally, we looked into their different types of behavior patterns in the online learning environment. A total of 24 students were included in this study. In this study, we used the online learning environment, Co-Sci system, developed. The activities include the following five stages: 1. Anchoring phenomenon and main problem; 2. Prediction and building the initial model; 3. Observation and interpretation; 4. Establishing the final model; 5. Model correction and evaluation. After the intervention, the results of pre and post-tests showed significant improvement in students’ scientific concept of Newton's second law of motion . Moreover, the results showed significant improvement in the model drawing. The paired samples t-tests analysis showed there were significant difference between the initial models and the final models. Through the analysis of LSA behavior patterns, students were divided into four types, including model and experiment reference group, sequential behavior group, experiment recombination group and no significant behavior group. Results showed that model and experiment reference group performed best in both scientific concept test and modeling competence assessment test. This study provides suggestions for future design of computer simulations and suggestions for students’ collaboration tasks.
