Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 科學教育研究所 === 107 === Through action research, the main purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of board games on middle school students’ scientific learning achievements, concept mapping and engagement in scientific activities. Participants included 18 students in the seventh grade of a middle. The two units taught in this study were “How Animals Get Nutrients" and "The Circulatory System of Animal and the Circulatory System of Human". The content in these two units was first taught by the teacher through lectures , and then the students played the board game. The results of this study were as follows. First, the integration of board games into the teaching of sciences can improve the students' understanding of the concepts of "circulatory system of animal and the circulatory system of human." Second, the integration of board games into the teaching of sciences a enhanced the students' concept mapping. Thrid, the integration of board games enhanced the students' positive cognitive engagement and positive emotional engagement; however, it also led to negative emotional engagement perhaps due to competition.
