Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 教育研究所在職專班 === 106 === This action research aimed to explore how to enhance sixth graders’ reading comprehension by applying the Mind Mapping and cooperative learning. It also explored students’ learning problems encountered in teaching and responding strategies. 27 sixth-grade students of Happy Elementary School in Hsinchu participated in this research. The teaching material was Hanlin version of the twelfth book of Chinese textbooks. This research continued two lessons per week for eight weeks. The research process adopted two stages of teaching: First, the Mind Mapping was integrated into the text teaching. Secondly, the cooperative learning was integrated into the Mind Mapping teaching. The main findings were as follow: 1.Reading comprehension course’s difficulties could be solved by revising teaching strategies. 2.The students had positive attitude towards Mind Mapping and cooperative learning. 3.The students’ reading comprehension improved after 8 weeks of teaching Mind Mapping and cooperative learning. Finally, suggestions are made based on the research results to serve as a reference for future teachers’ teaching applications and future research.
