Description
Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 企業管理學系碩士班 === 106 === Abstract Perception of abusive supervision is an important issue in work settings nowadays. The independent variables of this study include personal characteristics of employees (i.e., gender, education and the reputation of graduation school), and work experiences of employees (i.e., organizational tenure and job type). The dependent variable of this study is employees’ perception of abusive supervision. Besides, previous research has indicated that the types, and industries of the employing organizations and the working years with the current supervisors will affect employees’ perception of abusive supervision. Therefore, the three variables are included as control variables in this study. The data was collected from the incumbents in work settings who had their own supervisors. The antecedents can be divided into three aspects: the supervisors, the subordinates, and the working environment. The current study has found that four antecedents of abusive supervision, including gender, education, tenure and job type, exerted an effect on perception of abusive supervision. In order to decrease employees’ perception of abusive supervision, the managers should firstly understand employees’ personal characteristics and work experiences, and then propose suitable managerial practices. Keywords: personal characteristics, work experiences, employees’ perception of abusive supervision
