However, the discussions with regard to the effectiveness of the adoption of EMI are still in conflict. Therefore, the present study was aimed to explore if the elementary school students favor EMI in their English classroom. It intended to investigate the relationships among students’ attitudes towards EMI teaching, learning anxiety, and willingness to communicate (WTC). The study employed an experimental study design. The experimental group received English as the medium of instruction (EMI) in class and the control group received both English and Chinese as the mediums of instruction (hereby referred to as CMI) for one semester. Questionnaires for learning anxiety and willingness and to communicate were used to compare participants’ responses after the intervention. The major finding of this study showed that there is no significant difference in learning anxiety and the attitudes towards WTC between EMI class and CMI class. Other findings and pedagogical implications for English education at the elementary level were presented in the study. Chen, Hsiang-I 陳祥頤 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 106 en_US
