First of all,the researcher uses the self-designed questionnaire to interview with a teacher to understand his mathematics and teaching knowledge of the definition of the sector; Moreover, through the teacher’s teaching for two classes, 80 minutes of teaching experiments, explores his teaching in transferring knowledge of the sector to students, and analyzes the interaction between the teacher and students; Then, the researcher made the second interview with the teacher under the changing after teacher’s teaching and the first interview. We analyze the teacher’s knowledge exhibit of the definition of the sector, teaching practice and thinking by the contents of two interviews. The results show that the teacher has the following knowledge of the definition of the sector: 1. proposing a definition; 2. constructing or evaluating examples or non-examples; 3.describing properties or relations; 4. constructing definitional explanations or arguments; 5. revising definitions; 6. establishing and reasoning about systematic relations; 7.asking definitional questions; 8.negotiating criteria for judging adequacy or acceptability of definitions; 9.the teacher has the knowledge of the definition of the sector in practicing and revising.
