The definition of environmental literacy is environmental cognition, environmental attitudes and environmental skills. In this study, teachers developed a interdisciplinary curriculum about air pollution to improve junior high school students’ environmental cognition, environmental attitudes and environmental skills. There were 149 junior high school students participated in this study. All participants needed to complete two environmental literacy questionnaires before and after doing the localization curriculum about air pollution. The conclusions of this study were as follows after data analyses by descriptive statistic, reliability analysis, paired sample t test, independent sample t test and single factor variance. The results were summarized as follows: 1. Interdisciplinary environmental curriculums really made junior high students enhance the environmental literacy. 2. The more positive the degree of preference for air pollution issues, the higher the average score of environmental literacy. 3. Environmental cognition have a higher level than environmental understanding and environmental skills after the interdisciplinary air pollution curriculums. 4. There is no significant difference in the environmental cognition and environmental attitude among the students of different sexes, but there are differences in the environmental skills, and the girls perform better than boys. 5.There were significant differences in the environmental cognition and environmental skills among the junior high school students in different grades. In environmental skills, the grade 9 was better than that of the grade 8. In environmental attitude, grade7 better than grade 8. 6. According to the results of correlation analysis of environmental accomplishment, it is found that there is a significant positive correlation between environmental cognition, environmental attitudes and environmental skills 7. Environmental curriculum using interdisciplinary approach to teaching, can effectively improve student learning quality and environmental literacy.
