This study is quasi-experimental design. Students were divided into two groups, the experimental group was Data-modeling teaching with virtual experiment, The contrast group was text-based traditional teaching, The research instruments were Force and Motion Data-Modeling Ability Test and Forces and Motion Achievement Test.This study had two conclusions: 1.After teaching, The experimental group was significantly better than the contrast group (p<.05) in the ability of constructing data model, with large effect (η2 =.140); The experimental group was significantly better than the contrast group (p<.05) in the ability of applying data model, with middle effect close to large effect(η2 =.117).Which shows that data-modeling teaching with virtual experiment had improved the ability of constructing data model and the ability of applying data model. 2.The experimental group and the contrast group still had their own different learning problems in the ability of data-modeling, need to be remedied. There were some problems on the contrast group with the ability of constructing data model. There were some problems both on the experimental group and the contrast group with the ability of explaining data model.
