碩士 === 開南大學 === 人文社會學院公共管理碩士在職專班 === 105 === The purpose of this study is to explore English teachers’ well-being in an elementary school in Taoyuan City by personality traits, social support and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. The research method is conducted by semi-structured interviews with five English teachers. The results are as follow： 1. The difference of teacher’s seniority will not affect the happiness of English teacher. 2. The higher social support has positive impact on English teacher’s happiness. 3. English teacher who has optimistic and positives personality traits is easier to have the sense of happiness. 4. There has the decisive influence for English teacher’s happiness by emotion and cognition. 5. The workload can affect English teacher’s happiness and it is also one of the reasons for the vacancy of English teachers. 6. Teachers will easily apply for transfer to another school if the school administration does not do something to support them.
