The thesis comprises five chapters. Chapter one reveals research motivation, structure of the thesis and a brief introduction of the movie. Chapter two probes into definition, sociolinguistics and modern linguistics of F word, as well as characteristics, restrictions and translation principles of subtitling. Chapter three illustrates the methodology of the research. Chapter four categorizes several translation strategies by analyzing charts and examples.
