Students with intellectual disabilities have social adjustment problems, the researcher want to solve this plight. This research involved an action research, comprised of a consumer education curriculum designed by the researcher. This research is for five elementary students with intellectual disabilities in Hsinchu, in the three-unit study. The study aimed to investigate the instructing progress of the teacher, and the difficulties that teacher confronted and the feasible solutions to them. The learning progress and behavior of the students and the effect of the curriculum were also examined. The study also aimed to discuss the promotion of the cognition, self-determination of the students from the consumer education curriculum action research. The results of this study explain as follows:1. Through the action research, the teacher could improve plight of teaching, promote teaching methods and enhance the ability of teaching material design. 2. The teacher provide assistance for the elementary students with intellectual disabilities could improve their learning efficiency. 3.The consumer education curriculum is useful to improve self-determination of elementary students with intellectual disabilities. 4.
