The participants consisted of 31 eighth graders. The research had been implemented for 12 weeks. During the research period, the data were collected through several resources including teaching journals, teacher’s observation records, focus group interview, work sheets, writing performance assessment, learning motivation survey, and writing SRSD survey. The findings of this study were as follows: First, SRSD model was suitable to composition instruction at junior high school level. Second, applying SRSD model could promote student’s writing learning motivation. Third, applying SRSD model could enhance students’ writing performance. Fourth, applying SRSD model could promote students’ writing SRSD. Based on the findings, the suggestions for the teachers and future researchers were also made in this study.
