Abstract
The main purpose of this research was to explore the relationship among teacher’s self-efficacy and teaching information literacy based on Pay-Fong Independent Middle School in Malaysia.
The research was conducted through questionnaires survey for all the teachers in Pay-Fong Independent Middle School. The research data acquired was processed by SPSS software for 20.0 versions and analyzed with average mean, standard deviation. Otherwise, the statistical methods used for analyzed the data were descriptive statistic and Pearson’s product-moment correlation.
Based on the results, the following conclusions of the research results were summarized as follows:
1. Pay-Fong Independent Middle School of teachers for the current situation of teacher’s self-efficacy and teaching information literacy was higher than average level.
2. The differences in teacher’s self-efficacy and teaching information literacy was among teachers of different gender have achieved the research result shows that the average number of male teachers was higher than female teachers.
3. The differences in teacher’s self-efficacy and teaching information literacy was among teachers of different age have achieved the research result shows that the number of age ranged from the 41-45 age group and 46 years old group of teachers have the highest number of average. Besides that, in the teaching information literacy level shows that the number of age ranged from 41-45 age groups of teachers have the highest number of average.
4. The differences in teacher’s self-efficacy and teaching information literacy was among teachers of different seniority have achieved the results showed that the number of seniority beyond for 5 years have the highest number of average. Besides that, in the teaching information literacy level, the result shows that the different seniority was 15 years of teachers have the highest number of average.
5. The differences in teacher’s self-efficacy and teaching information literacy was among teachers of position have achieved the research result shows that the number of as the teachers and administrator group teachers have the highest number of average. Besides that, in the teaching information literacy level, it shows that the differences of position of the number as a full-time teacher group have the highest number of average.
6. The differences in teacher’s self-efficacy and teaching information literacy was among teachers of different teaching subject have achieved the research result shows that the number of every teacher having teaching with the qualifications and experience have difference. Besides that, in the teaching information literacy level, it shows that the groups of teaching computer subject and music subject have the highest number of average.
7. The differences in teacher’s self-efficacy and teaching information literacy was among teachers of different grade of class have achieved the research result shows that the number of grade of class with senior three have the highest number of average. Besides that, in the teaching information literacy level, it shows that the differences of grade class with junior two have the highest number of average.
8. The differences in teacher’s self-efficacy and teaching information literacy was among teachers of different graduated education have achieved the research result shows that the number of graduated on secondary school education have higher number of average than others.
9. The differences in teacher’s self-efficacy and teaching information literacy was among teachers of different practice education credits have achieved the research result shows that the number of general academic college group of teachers have highest number of average.
10. There was a significant positive correlation between teacher’s self-efficacy and teaching information literacy.
Finally, based on the results, will give some suggestions for School administrative unit department, Chinese Independent Middle School it department.
