A concurrent mixed methods approach was utilized with a greater emphasis on the qualitative component than the quantitative one. Quantitatively, survey data were collected from 295 11th graders and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t test, and one-way ANOVA. Qualitatively, case study method was used to collect data from four underachieving 11th graders through semi-structured interviews, field observation, and relevant documents. The data were coded using the template organizing style and the ladder of analytical abstraction. The quantitative research found that 11th grade students generally attain mid-level of learning adjustment; however, the adjustment in their learning motivation and interpersonal relationships are better than their learning attitudes and habits and the use of learning strategies. Girls have better learning adjustment than boys. Parents’ educational background does not influence their children’s learning adjustment. The qualitative results indicated that underachieving 11th grade students’ learning adjustment is diverse and dynamic. Their learning adjustment is influenced by personal factors, family factors, and school factors. Wu,Pi-Ju 吳璧如 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 198 zh-TW |
