Many studies show that, compared to traditional instruction, integrating information technology into instruction has significantly improved students’ learning efficiency as well as their motivations and participations toward learning. As for the resource classes exclusively designed for retarded students, the curricula are mainly designed for functional subjects such as linguistic and mathematics, and implemented in extra remedial teaching; other subjects such as science and technology, these students were sent back to regular classes and taught by their homeroom and subject teachers. The aim of this study is to discuss the learning efficiency of the mild mentally retarded fifth graders on the domains of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor, by integrating information technology into remedial teaching on science and technology subject. The study applied the A-B-A-B design of single subject research method, all obtained data are processed with visual inspection and C statistics, while the reliability is obtained through triangular test of qualitative data. The conclusion indicates that integrating of information technology into remedial teaching on science and technology subject could effectively enhance the mentally retarded fifth graders’ learning efficiency on the psychomotor domain, but not on the cognitive and affective domain.
