Summary: | 碩士 === 元智大學 === 社會暨政策科學學系 === 103 === The purpose of this study is to explore upper-grade elementary students’ financial cognition and money attitudes, and how different they are with students’ background variables. The study used indirect investigation method, in which 420 questionnaires are collected from upper-grade elementary students in Taoyuan City. The survey tool included questionnaires of “financial cognition” and “money attitudes”, and the analysis of the data is operated by descriptive statistics, T-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation method. The results of the analyzed data are drawn as follows: the financial cognition of upper-grade elementary students in Taoyuan City is fair. The money attitudes on budget planning have the best behavior. In the category of power and prestige, students thought that power can influence others. Furthermore, with different variables such as gender, grade, saving habits, saving methods, the amounts of pocket money, main caregivers, occupation of main caregivers, education of main-caregivers, and family economic status, the financial cognition and money attitudes of the students are also different. The research suggests that education institutions can develop related teaching materials and websites, and financial education should be also integrated into multiple learning. Students should establish correct concept of money and become rational consumers, and parents should set good consuming behaviors in order to develop students’ proper concept of money and consumption. The follow-up researchers can expand the related research to the discussion of research methods and different variables.
