This study focused on the process of changing the cultural awareness and cultural consciousness of Puyuma tribal culture through my three-year teaching experience, analyzing the factors and dilemmas which impacted my teaching praxis. We used qualitative method in this study, and also collected data including teaching activity records, children’s culture learning documents and pictures, interviews on teachers, parents and members in Puyuma indigenous tribe. The results of this study are as follows:The evolution of the cross-cultural teaching experience and the teacher’s thinking on the Puyuma local-based cultural curriculum were the crucial influence on the Han preschool teacher’s teaching activities. Based on “Culturally Responsive Teaching” study, we can find the Puyuma cultural knowledge and abilities were also developed between children and teacher in this study. From my own teaching experience, I found that mainstream ideology of the Han preschool teacher is the crux to my actions. In addition, learned more skills and enhanced cultural literacy to teach indigenous children should be improved.
