Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 數理教育研究所數學教育教學碩士班 === 103 === Abstract This research aims to explore how the mathematical case discussion change and help an elementary teacher in her using of textbooks.The researcher organized a discussion group of mathematical case and conducted five discussions of area teaching case. The researcher also interviewed the case teacher to gather related data. The researcher found out that through the discussions, the case teacher has upgraded her using of the textbooks from “offload” to “adaption”.What’s more, the researcher also found out that through the discussions, the case teacher has changed her using of the textbooks in several ways: first, she interprets the textbook according to “the contents of mathematical problems”. Second, she interprets the textbook according to “the way mathematical problems are presented”. Third, she interprets the textbook according to “the students’ understanding of area”. Consequently, from the findings of this study, the researcher can concluded that the mathematical case discussion indeed have provided the case teacher a lot of help in her using of the textbooks. And hence the teacher has facilitated her growing in use area teaching materials.
