We examined whether these two forms of knowledge sharing may have impact on innovation within the organization, and thus may enhance the organizational performance of enterprises. After conducting a literature survey and enterprises interview, we proposed some hypotheses. We selected the top 1,000 Taiwan manufacturing firms and the top 500 Taiwan service firms by CommonWealth magazine of Taiwan in 2012 as the population of this study. We mailed questionnaires to the corporate executives or managers sampled. In total, 1000 questionnaires are mailed, and 165 valid questionnaires returned, the return rate is 16.5%. Then the structural equation modeling and LISREL 8.54 of software for data analyses are used to verify the hypotheses in this study. The results show that: (1) Explicit knowledge sharing has a positive effect on innovation, (2) Tacit knowledge sharing has a positive effect on innovation, (3) Innovation has a positive impact on organizational performance, (4) Explicit knowledge sharing can generate positive effects on organizational performance through innovation, and (5) Tacit knowledge sharing can generate positive effects on organizational performance through innovation.
