Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 數理教育研究所 === 102 === The research method employed by the study is Case Study. The subjects are four fourth-grade students participating in “Remedial Instruction Program” in Tainan City. The purpose of this study is to realize what types of mistakes students will make in four arithmetic operations, as well as to explore the learning and sentimental performance of students in doing four arithmetic operations through games. The study also tries to understand how students will change in the process of solving math problems during the program. The results of the research are as follows: 1. The students are not very familiar with the four arithmetic operations, which causes them to solve math problems only from the parts they know. Ignorant of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, they just do the math from left to right. Therefore, they need to desperately improve the four fundamental arithmetic operations. 2. Applying the game “Monopoly” and the teaching method “Values Clarification” to doing math, students can avoid their previous mistakes and learn how to solve math problems correctly, which can help students boost their learning performance. 3. Through games, students can significantly improve their accuracy and performance while doing math. 4. Using the game “Monopoly,” which is already familiar to students, can motivate their learning and arouse their interests. As a result, students can learn the four arithmetic operations easily. At last, the research reflects on the design, implementation, and results of the “Remedial Instruction Program”, as well as to bring up some concrete suggestions to be referenced for teaching and further studies.
