Description
Summary:碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 應用英語學系碩士在職專班 === 102 === The study aimed to explore impacts of integrating art with English learning for 3 rd graders at the elementary level of English education. Fifty 3rd graders participated in the present study. Twenty 40-minute lessons which integrated art with English were developed and applied into classroom teaching as action research. English Learning Achievement Tests (ELATⅠ& Ⅱ), Learning Motivation Questionnaires (LMQⅠ& Ⅱ) were employed for data collections. The results of the study showed that after receiving the art-English integrated curriculum, the English learning achievement of students in the experiment group significantly performed better than those who were in the control group. In other words, the students are likely to benefit from instructions which integrated arts with English learning, leading to improvements in their English learning attainments. In addition, it is found that learning motivation of the participants in the experimental group is reported to be enhanced by the integration of English teaching and learning with arts. To conclude, the present study has illuminated positive effects of integrating arts with English learning at elementary English education in Taiwan’s EFL context.
