However, the shortage and high turnover rate of nurses are long-lasting problems. The later causes great threats to the maintenance of the quality of nursing care and cost managements. To keep stable nursing manpower is the key to patient safety and rights. It is associated with hospital administration and images as well. The main purpose of this study is to explore the intention of resignation by probing into psychological contract and organizational commitment. This study takes the nurses at a regional hospital in Yunlin County as participants. A Questionnaire is designed with different perspectives. The questionnaire is distributed to 384 nurses by purposive sampling. All analyses are performed using SPSS 18.0. Then the underlying reasons of resignation are investigated through interviews. The results, as references of manpower managements, are provided for the hospital administrators to improve healthcare quality.
