Description
Summary:碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 應用外語學系碩士班 === 101 === The known methods of teaching Chinese character recognition may be divided into concentrated and scattered approaches, latter having been practiced in the elementary schools in Taiwan. So this thesis chooses to examine the pros and cons of the two approaches. The focus is on finding issues with how new characters are introduced through the literacy textbooks of Grade I-IX according to the traditional six ways of character formation. All the commonly used characters, which appear in the currently used textbooks I-XII and related teaching references by three publishers, have been regrouped in tables in accordance with “the Character Stem Derivation Principle”, and recommendations have been made as to how these tables may make convenient reference for both learners and teachers alike. Finally, the researchers make recommendations based on the results as a reference for elementary literacy teaching.
