The contents of this study included the design and implementation of the performing arts curriculum consisting mainly of “musical theaters” integrated with character education, the issues encountered during curriculum implementation, responsive methods as well as student learning and progress. In the study, the researcher utilized interview, observation and document analysis etc. to collect data and analyze. The results of the study are as below: 1. Integration of the character education into musical theaters in performing arts curriculum can respond to the students’ requirements of the publication of study results and the expectation of the parents. 2.The curriculum of musical theater integrates visual arts, music and performing arts. It can solve the problems of limited learning time of arts and humanities and effectively achieve the learning goals of the three fields mentioned above. 3.The curriculum of music theaters can take into consideration of music learning, practice of character, exhibitions and activities related to performing arts. 4. Context of dilemma is added into the musical script and the class boundary is broken down because students come from all grades perform jointly. The opportunities are increased for the students to experience and understand the meaning of core character value. 5.The teaching methods of model demonstration, dialogue communication, role playing, specialization and cooperation which are utilized in the musicals and provide the opportunities for the students to practice character education. 6.The musicals activities can be effectively carried out when the study results are published jointly through combination of university activities and field learning. 7.It can also increase the opportunities of character education for the students when teachers exchange opinions with the students through data collection and analysis and creating the musical script together. 8.Musical theaters take the issue of character as the main point, integrating music, visual arts and performing arts curriculum. Interdisciplinary knowledge is what the teachers need to enrich actively. 9.The main difficulties are the negotiation, time arrangement and field borrowing during the implementation of musical theater curriculum. 10.When carrying out interdisciplinary teaching, the teacher should actively negotiate and coordinate, seeking support from internal administration staff and external parents to solve the problems encountered during implementation of curriculum. Based on the study results mentioned above, suggestions are put forward as below: 1. Integration of character education into arts and humanities achieved positive teaching effect. Teachers in different fields may consider trying curriculum design. 2.When integrating character education into curriculum design, the teachers may start from their teaching field and then carry out interdisciplinary integration. 3.When integrating character education into the field curriculum design, the teachers may try to start from the requirements of the students and aim at the requirements of student character learning. 4.The teachers may utilize the issues of character education to provide multi-contexts as the basis of drama creation and curriculum design to enrich the contents of performing arts activities. 5.Carrying out classroom activities through integration of arts and literature field with teaching methods of character education may enable smooth implementation of integration of character education into performing arts curriculum. 6.When implementing integration of interdisciplinary curriculum, the teachers need to discuss and cooperate with related teachers more actively to solve the problems of lack of professional disciplinary knowledge. 7.When displaying the study results of field curriculum combing university activities, the administration staff should communicate and concern automatically to solve potential problems which might be encountered during curriculum implementation. 8.Multiple learning points are common in the integrated and interdisciplinary curriculum design. It takes longer or extra learning time. The university should assist teachers to implement curriculum through multilevel meetings and integrating teaching time. 9. Implementing curriculum with integration of character education into learning field, the teachers may demonstrate the action with core character values conforming to teaching contents.
