The participants of the study were 30. The study was methodologically based on the mixed model studies, and has developed a training model content, and conducted the field observation and interviews. Each item of the qualitative information statistically inducted would be cross-discussed with questionnaires to examine the efficiency. Finally, the discovery, discussion and suggestion would be made as the end of the dissertation. The present study has generally proposed three major job positions for the mentally retarded in the convenience store, after the job analysis and decomposition have been conducted. The study has designed and developed 40 kinds of assistive devices in accordance with the participants’ needs. The research discovers that the mentally retarded, after being trained with the training models and the practice and the assistive devices, are proven to be able to do their work in the convenience store. The training model was not only highly affirmed by the employers; one hundred percent of the participants of the study were, after the training, willing to stay and continue the present work.
