Based on quasi-experimental pretest-posttest nonequivalent groups design in ten weeks, the experimental group was involved in mind mapping, and the other was not, and comparing the differences among the following measures: (1) Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (figural/verbal), (2) the New Problem-solving Measurement, (3) The evaluation sheet of mind mapping and (4) Feedback questionnaire. The data analysis includes descriptive statistics, one-way analysis of covariance, teacher’s manuscript and student’s responses. Furthermore, the findings of this research are as follows: (1) Mind-mapping teaching in writing can enhance pupils’ figural creativity: After implementing mind-mapping teaching in writing, the sores of ‘Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking(Figural)Scale on ‘Fluency’, ‘Originality’, ‘Head-line’, ‘Elaboration’, ‘Opening’ are significantly improved. (2) Mind-mapping teaching in writing can upgrade pupils’ verbal creativity: After implementing mind-mapping teaching in writing, the sores of ‘Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking(Verbal)Scale on ‘Fluency’, ‘Originality’, ‘flexibility’ and the total score are significantly improved. (3) Mind-mapping teaching in writing can promote pupils’ problem-solving ability: After implementing mind-mapping teaching in writing, the sores of ‘New Problem-solving Measurement Scale’ on ‘Finding Causes’, ‘Finding Solutions’, ‘Avoiding Problems’ and the total score are significantly improved. (4) Based on the feedback questionnaire, pupils in the experimental group show positive attitude on mind mapping writing teaching with promoting their creative ability and problem-solving willing.
