The target of the action research is the sixth graders in an elementary school, totally twenty-seven students. The length of period is about seven months using teaching strategies to perform the mutual reading in the whole class. The references in the research is “ the questionnaire of the extracurricular reading activity in the elementary school” by Chang-mei-ling; and “the questionnaire of students’ reading attitude” by Wang Shung Chia,aiming to realize the students’ reading attitude. The research also takes the” measurement of reading comprehension” by Mr.Ho, in which the understanding of the meaning and the reasoning ability are two major scales. The research uses two kinds of test: 「Pre-test」and 「Post-test」combining with students’ feedback、parents’ feedback、records of students’ behavior observation. Bellow are the results: 1.Through the mutual reading and the reading discussion, students have a more better reading attitude. 2.Through the mutual reading and the reading discussion, students more like reading. 3.Through the mutual reading and the reading discussion, students have better reading comprehension .
