Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士班 === 97 === This study was to explore the effectiveness of the social story instruction to enhance the communication skills of children with Down`s. The sample was a six-year-old child with Down`s syndrome in the general kindergarten. This study adapted the single subject experimental design of case study. By the period of two months, to explore the effectiveness of the social story instruction on increasing appropriate communication behavior and decreasing inappropriate communication behavior for the case. The data was analyzed by using inspection techniques and C statistics. The results of this study were as follows: 1.The social story instruction can increase appropriate behavior and improve inappropriate behavior of active expression with Down`s, the effects of social story instruction were Immediated and maintained. 2.The social story instruction can increase appropriate behavior and improve inappropriate behavior of seek the assistance with Down`s, the effects of social story instruction were Immediated and maintained. 3.The social story instruction can increase appropriate behavior and improve inappropriate behavior of refuse others with Down`s, the effects of social story instruction were Immediated and maintained. 4.The social story instruction can increase appropriate behavior and improve inappropriate behavior of response to others with Down`s, the effects of social story instruction were Immediated and maintained.
