Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 科學教育研究所 === 97 === This study involves using learning-goal-driven design model to design the vertebrate section in the textbook for junior high school and it further discusses the learning effect and how the students take the concepts. Quasi-experimental researching method was adpoted in this study. New textbook and original textbook were used separately in two classes by two teachers while information including the examination results of the pre-test and post-test, open-ended worksheet and interview results were collected. It is shown that there are 43 concept codes collected in the open-ended learning sheet including 7 behavioral codes, 17 physical codes, 17 surface codes and 2 example codes. Students using new textbook to learn about reptiles increase significantly in number when expressing the three characteristics of reptiles: ‘their bodies have special mechanisms to prevent the water from evaporating’, ‘they have scale and bone lamella’ and ‘they have claws’. The results of the examination shown no differences between the students using new textbook and the students using original textbook. The interview with the experimental group reveals that the content and pictures of the life history and the eggs of Amphibians as well as of the reptile laying eggs left a deeper impression on the students who used the new textbook.
