Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 數位學習科技研究所 === 97 === Geometry is crucial in mathematics curriculum. Rich experience with geometry can improve the understanding of arithmetic and problem-solving ability. This study aims to develop a cooperative and manipulative virtual Tangram to facilitate children to learn geometry in the computer-supported cooperative learning environment with Tablet PCs. To promote peers interaction and stimulate students’ thinking and creativity toward geometric problem-solving, this study designs a cooperative Chinese puzzle activity with problem-solving learning strategies. Participants are 25 6th graders of a suburb elementary school of Tai-Chung city. The results indicate that children’s ability of rotation and space of shapes is improved and the gap between lower and higher achievers is narrowed. The cooperative Chinese puzzle activity not only facilitates peers discussion and negotiation, but enhances children’s belief toward problem solving. Furthermore, the cooperative virtual manipulative benefits each child to share resources and a positive interdependent learning context is thus naturally developed.
