Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 教育科技研究所 === 97 === This case study was to explore the implementation processes of cooperative learning with the use of multimedia on children’s English learning in a community, based mainly on qualitative approach and partly on quantitative approach. The results indicated that small group learning with the use of multimedia offered learners with a multi learning environment in which listening and speaking were the priority. Also, it was embedded with approaches of total physical response and communicative activities to offer the children a more authentic English learning environment. Furthermore, the results implied that after joining the small-group learning with the use of multimedia, those children’s situational dialogue ability, sentence recognition and reading, and oral speaking ability were improved. Those children’s English ability were not affected by their background knowledge, and they have positive attitude toward small-group cooperative learning with the use of multimedia, including enhancing learning motivation, interests and maintaining attentions during learning. Suggestions and implications for future studies were included.
