Summary:碩士 === 明道大學 === 教學藝術研究所 === 97 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the content, construction process and influencing factors of practical knowledge of a primary school principal. This study, from February 2009 to June the same year, was a qualitative research to focus on one principal in central Taiwan. The collected data of this study were from observations, interviews, notes and documents. Employing content analysis, the major findings of this study were as follows: 1. The principal in this sample had substantial practical knowledge in educator, administrator, culture leader, and a part of professional community. She also emphasized both technical administration and artistic leadership. 2. The principal in this sample presented “There is no best, only better; towards the teaching profession with humility heart.” in the four dimensions above. 3. The principal got practical knowledge from simulating, colleague’s reacting, past experiences, self-awareness and creativities, reading and academic discipline, and used it by personal faith as a criterion. 4. The impacts on the principal’s practical knowledge are pluralistic, and they would interact with each other. Mostly there were three types, “personal factors,” “significant others” and “school situation.”
