Description
Summary:碩士 === 龍華科技大學 === 電子工程研究所 === 97 === Subdivision Surface is a method of subdividing the faces of a mesh to give a smooth appearance. Complex smooth surfaces can be obtain from simple, low-vertex meshes via this method. Due to improvement of 3D rendering technologies, GPU-based subdivision surface have became an efficiently and correctly method. Details of polygon model is usually presented by combining this method and displacement mapping. However, it is not efficient when the model doesn't have to described by a large number of vertices. This paper adjusts the tessellation level of model according to the complexity of displacement map. In a test case of 32 tessellation level, 80% vertices can be reduced with little difference in image quality. The result shows the superior of the applied method
