Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士班 === 96 === The purpose of this study is to explore the influences and effectiveness of picture book teaching on self-concept of children with physical disabilities. This study employs qualitative research method. The subject of this study is a first-grade student with physical disabilities.
This research is conducted 80 minutes per week and lasts for 10 weeks. Data was collected throughout the sessions via reading worksheets, recording, video recorded data, observation and interview records. In addition, such raw materials are all summarized, interpreted and discussed. The researcher tries to find out the characteristics and positive strength of participant’s self-concept by analyzing the collected data.
The results of this study are as follows:
1. The teaching of picture book proves to have positive effects on the self-concept of the children with physical disabilities.
2. There was a significant improvement in the child’s self-concept through the teaching of picture book.
