The effects of interventions were then examined. Subjects were two sixth graders with moderate mental retardation. A single-subject design--multiple baselines across functions was used in this study. One list was used to observe subjects’ behaviors in the natural conditions. Functional analysis was conducted in the lab to investigate the functions of subjects’ oral habits. The independent variable was the interventions developed upon the results of functional analysis. The dependent variable was the frequency of the subjects’ oral habits. Results were summarized as follows: (1) The oral habits of these two subjects indicated multiple functions which were the combinations of sensory and social negative reinforcements. (2) In the alone condition, simplified habit reversal could immediately reduce two subjects’ oral habits. The effects remained afterwards. (3) In the demand condition, the extinction and non-contingent reinforcement strategies could immediately reduce two subjects’ oral habits. The effects remained afterwards. 江秋樺 博士 學位論文 ; thesis 162 zh-TW |
