In addition, the mental models of high-achiever’ students and low-achiever’ students were compared. The major findings of the study are as follows: 1. The quality of students’mental models with 5E learning cycle instruction method is better than those with didactic instruction method, especially for low-achiever’students. 2. Junior high students’mental models have many alternative conceptions in chemical equilibrium. The reasons consist of difficultly exchanging macrocosm for microcosm ,being influenced by the teaching process and the prior mental models, and the misunderstanding of scientific language. 3. The students’mental model development has the following features: (1) Prior mental models tend to build up new mental models, but those also limit new mental models development. (2) The overmuch association of the similar function could affect the mental model development. (3) When students encounter difficult problems, they tend to adopt simple and non-scientific solutions, even unwilling or unable to build up any model. (4) Insufficient learners’ prior knowledge is possibly impede new mental models development and refinement. Lin Huann-shyang Shu Youn-Yuen 林煥祥 徐永源 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 140 zh-TW
