This study is a qualitative study. The researcher investigated students’ performance through interviews, and designed some teaching activities to promote students’ number sense. The major findings are as follows: (1)Different level students usually use different strategies when solving mathematics question. The students who scored higher usually used their number sense to solve question. But the students who scored middle and lower usually calculated actual answer. (2)After teaching activities, the students have better performance on number sense. It means the teaching activities are helpful to get more number sense. (3)In teaching activities, the students can recognize number more, know more relation between number and calculation, solve more flexibility, and use their metacognition to decide right answer. (4)If the teacher can design curiosity-and-interest-causing teaching activities, provide help in time, students will be easy to promote number sense. The results showed the subjects have better performance on number sense after teaching activities. In other word, teachers could help student to develop number sense through the teaching activities.
