It was also to realize instructor’s reflection and learning from teaching The subjects of the study were the 16 healthy middle-aged and elderly people who were veteran serviceman, and took part in a ten-week Pilates course three times a week. The quantitative data were collected by functional fitness test, which was excuted before and after the Pilates course, and the qualitative data from videotaping, teaching journals, student’ learning log and observer’s feedback. The main finding were as the follows: 1. Before and after the ten-week Pilates course, the functional fitness test (included upper-extremity strength, lower-extremity strength, shoulder flexible degree, lower-extremity flexible degree, dynamic balance and aerobic endurance) were significantly different (p<.05), excepted BMI (p>.05). 2. The subjets learned the correct way of breathing, and obviously, felt the improvement in flexibility, upper-extremity strength and lower-extremity strength. Also they realized the difference between the looseness and tightness of the body and hold the positive attitude to the whole course. 3. The researcher gained and learned five aspects through the action progress. (1) improving a lot in the teaching skill. (2) learning the correct attitude to teach. (3) being more sensitive and familiar with the materials. (4) being more professional on Pilates. (5) receiving more edification from student’s feedback. Dah-Feng Lin 林大豐 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 119 zh-TW
