Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士班 === 92 === This study was set to figure out the performance profile of environment characteristics and emotional intelligence of the gifted children regarding to different demographic variables such as gender, socioeconomic statues (SES), sibling numbers and born sequence. In addition, the study also examed the relationship between the environment characteristics and emotional intelligence of gifted children. A total of 266 gifted students in the third and sixth grades from Kaushiung City was participated in the study."Family Environment Scale" and "Emotional Intelligence Scale "were administrated to represent the participants'''' environment characteristics and emotional intelligence, respectively. Some statistic methods, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test, correlation and two-way ANOVA were applied with SPSS package.Research results were as follows. First, in terms of profile of the "Family Environment Scale", it revealed that participants relatively scored highest on family communication, followed by family climate, and finally was family value. On the other hand, as to emotional intelligence, their scores in sequence were management of self-emotion, management of interpersonal relationship, self-encouragement and understanding others'''' emotion. Second,on family communication and family value, children of the sixth grade outscored those of the third grade. Moreover, children from different SES families performed significantly different on emotional management and family communication. Third, as to the female outperformed the male on understanding self-emotion, self-emotion management and management of interpersonal relationship. self-encouragement , children of the sixth grade outscored those of the third grads. Fourth,significantly positive relationship did exist between the environment characteristics and emotional intelligence of gifted children.In the overall and each aspet of Family Environment were prediction Emotional Intelligence. According to the result of this study, the research provides some suggestions for self-encouraged of students,parent'''' education ,teaching and guidance ,administration management of school,and future study.
