Six previous conducted e-learning workshops related to mathematics teaching were reviewed at the beginning of the study. The review suggests that letting an expert teacher to conduct an e-learning workshop to lead other teachers to learn is a useful model in a mathematics teacher e-learning program. The model was proved to be effective in learning, teaching, and even in the economic concern in a following online teaching experiment. 232 elementary mathematics teachers participated in the teaching experiment. The findings of the study also suggest that a good mathematics e-learning workshop shall (a) pay attentions to teachers’ needs when planning the workshop; (b) combine the uses of multi-media and static web materials; (c) use both synchronous and asynchronous methods to foster online dialogues; (d) pay attentions to both individual’s homework and group assignment.
