The study employed a case study approach by observing how an elementary school science teacher prepared and conducted class activities. As a participant observer, the researcher cooperated with the science teacher in resource-based teaching. An in-depth understanding about the needs of science teaching resources as well as the factors that influenced the teacher’s use resources were assessed. From the result, it’s found that although the teacher perceived the importance of utilizing resources in teaching, he hardly had sufficient time for preparing the curriculum materials. The lack of professional support and assistance in enhancing information literacy was one of the main factors hindering the integration of resource-based learning in the classroom. In the future implementation, the demand of the resources for teaching and learning should be addressed. The opportunity for students to appropriately utilize the Internet resources should also be provided. To promote resource-based teaching, a school needs to furnish the learning center with well-equipped resources and facilities. More important, the role of a library and media professional should not be overlooked to support teaching and learning. 林麗娟 2002 學位論文 ; thesis 181 zh-TW
