Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹師範學院 === 臺灣語言與語文教育研究所 === 89 === This case study investigates the acquisition of the consonants under different vowel context in a syllable produced by a child from 1;7 to 2;9. In the study, we elicit the data by picture naming. Two kinds of analysis methods are conducted to observe the processes and developments of the consonant acquisition: one is analyzing the consonants with the target vowels, and the other is analyzing the consonants with the vowels produced accurately. The results show that the allophone patterns of each consonant may be different under different vowel context, and the acquisition process is not a process of “making progress” always — the accuracy of the production may fluctuate while the system is adjusting. Further more, the consonant acquisition process we observed suggest us that the child was acquiring the consonant system by the way of hypothesis testing.
