Summary: | 碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 教育研究所 === 88 === The purpose of this study was to design confluent emotional educational courses (EEC) according to elementary Chinese textbook (Knsh, Book 8), and to investigate the effects of the course on emotional intelligence. The confluent emotional educational courses (EEC) and the Scale of the Children''s Emotional Intelligence based on the theories by Salovey & Mayer(1990), Goleman(1995), and Mayer & Salovey(1997).
The study used the unequal-group experimental design to select two grade-four classes in Ta-an Elementary School in Taipei. One of the classes including 29 students taught by researcher is the experimental group, and the other one including 28 students is control group. The experimental group participated in eight lessons of EEC during four months; whereas the control group was educated as usual without any experimental treatment. After the courses, examining the difference of emotional intelligence between the experimental group and the control one by the Scale of the Children''s Emotional Intelligence, and analyzing the data by one-factor MANOVA and ANOVA.
The major finding of this study was the experimental group was the same as the control one in emotional intelligence, but the experimental group was better than the control one in emotional utilization and regulation.
Finally, based on the results, the implications of the emotional educational courses in elementary Chinese education were discussed and suggested for teachers, educators, and further researches.
