The antioxidative activity of extracts was measured by the ferric thiocyanate method. The antioxidative efficiency was found in the order:BHA>methanol extract>ethyl acetate extract>(-tocopherol>n-hexane extract> control. The methanol extract of Caesalpinia sappan was fractionated and isolated by various chromatography to obtain two components. One of the isolated components was identified to be glueonolactone. Another, maybe organic salt, will be identified by atomic absorption spectroscopy.(2)Antioxidative components of flowers of Gossampinus malabarica.The flowers of Gossampinus malabarica was extracted with n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol. The antioxidative activity of extracts was measured by the ferric thiocyanate method. The antioxidative efficiency was found in the order:BHA>ethyl acetate extract>n-hexane extract>(-tocopherol>methanol extract >control. The ethyl acetate extract of flowers of Gossampinus malabarica was fractionated and isolated by various chromatography to obtain four components which were identified as 4''-methyl-3''-hydroxy-phenyl-stearate, 5-(2'',6''-dihydroxy-phenyl)-methyl-2-pentene, dioctyl phthalate and butyl-O-( -L-rhamnoside. Dioctyl phthalate, a plasticizer, could be contaminanted during experiment.(3)Antioxidative components of hulls of Passion Fruit. The hulls of Passion Fruit was extracted with n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol. The antioxidative activity of extracts was measured by the ferric thiocyanate method. The antioxidative efficiency was found in the order:BHA>n-hexane extract>(-tocopherol>ethyl acetate extract>control>methanol extract. The n-hexane extract of hulls of Passion furit was fractionated and isolated by various chromatography to obtain four components. Two of those components were identified as linoleic acid and 4"-hydroxy-3"-methoxy-phenyl-1'',3'',5''-hexenyl-linoleinate.
