From the previous extensive research works, the hydraulic pressure induced inside the surface cracks, such as transverse cracks, tache ovale cracks and squat cracks, plays an important role in discussing the crack instability due to pitting. In this paper, the hydraulic effect on surface cracks in rails are estimated by means of calculating the stress intensity factor and applying the strain energy density theory under the two- dimensional finite element analysis. The results show that hydraulic effect significantly reduce the fatigue life of the cracked rail than no hydraulic effect case. The behaviors of the surface cracks with hydraulic pressure are different from these without hydraulic pressure. 褚晴暉 1997 學位論文 ; thesis 98 zh-TW
