Summary: | This study focused on the shared experiences of teachers, instructional assistants, and K-5 administrators using schoolwide positive behavior interventions and supports in an alternative education program using individual in-person interviews. The sample consisted of 7 staff members, 3 instructional assistants, 2 teachers, 1 lead teacher, and 1 administrator. It was determined that the successful implementation of positive behavior interventions and supports requires the use of structures, support from instructional staff and administrators, teacher preparedness, and readiness to encounter a culture change when working within an alternative education program--Author's abstract
