THEORETICAL CONSIDERATIONS UPON THE ORIGIN AND NOMENCLATURE OF THE PRESENT ROSE CULTIVARS
The rose cultivars are inter-specific hybrids with polyphyletic and heterogeneous origin. The present rose cultivars are the result of introgressive hybridization, where the fertile hybrids from F1 are repetively crossbreeding with one of the parental species or with both species.
